.A classic modern day love story, Jasper and Leena matched on the Bumble dating app in November of 2020. Leena saw Jasper’s profile and sent a wildly creative message, “Hey”. How could Jasper not respond to that?! Especially to a girl who’s profile says she likes rock climbing, corn dogs, and beer. Jasper is still waiting to see Leena attempt all 3 of these things at the same time..

On January 14, 2021, Leena and Jasper met up to go on their first date. The night started with Axe throwing (Leena hit the first bullseye) (Jasper won though), and eventually led to sharing a bucket of Hamms beer at Tank House BBQ in midtown Sacramento. Date #2 took place a week later, when Jasper and Leena had planned to go shoot pool, but nothing was open so they settled for a local tap room. Date #3 happened when a terrible storm swept through the streets of Sacramento, but it was nothing that some fried rice at Chargins bar couldn’t get them through. Date #4 was at the local drive-in theater - neither of them can remember which movie they saw. Date #5 was when things became a little more serious, as Leena asked Jasper to go sit in a fine-dining igloo at the Sawyer Hotel. At dinner, they shared stories about their families and their big dreams for the future, solidifying their connection.

But when did they really fall in love? Jasper will say it was when Leena made him pull off the highway to search for a path to the notorious abandoned outhouse off in the distance off of highway 37, a road frequented by Jasper over the years. Leena says it was when Jasper won her a stuffed corndog toy at Six Flags after knocking down some metal milk jugs with a baseball. Coincidentally, both of these things happened on the same day! Even though they were both falling in love with each other, it was Jasper who finally mustered up the courage to say those 3, not so little, words.. “I Love You”.
